on the farm & a giveaway

Back home in Indiana I had trouble disconnecting from the internet. Between schoolwork and work I was always online at home or on campus. I would have to drive to the middle of nowhere to NOT have access. Now, living here in Wisconsin way out in the country with mostly non techie people, I have to drive OUT of the middle of nowhere to access the internet. When I first moved here there was something refreshing about being disconnected and spending so much time outside. But now I feel too disconnected and I’m having a hard time keeping up with the projects I had hoped to spend the summer accomplishing. So here I am weeks later finally posting again :)

The farm where I WWOOF is about twenty minutes from Lake Michigan and is amongst some of the most idyllic places I’ve ever been. With my first visit back in March I felt so in place here. Between the location and the people I absolutely love this place! Here’s a glimpse of the farm.

For an organic vegetable farm there are so many animals!

So how about a giveaway? Artisana and Ruth’s Foods sent me these samples to share. I’ve used Artisana many time and would recommend their products over any other nut butters. I had never tried Chia Goodness by Ruth’s Foods, but it was really good! Their cereals make for a quick and easy breakfast.

To enter tell me what you look forward to the most about summer. It can be anything from a specific vacation spot to the weather or eating watermelon. The winner will be announced at the end of July.

Thanks for the great giveaway, Hannah. I know how refreshing it can be to be disconnected from the internet, but you do tend to lose touch after a long while…

I pray that the Lord would continue to bless your time up on the farm.

    With love,
    Lauren

Though the summers are dreadfully hot where Though summers are dreadfully hot here, which makes appreciating the season difficult there are thing about summer not to be rivaled in any other season – breathtaking sunsets and clear blue skies, the deep indescribable colors of the sky during a monsoon, long afternoon swims with brother and trips back to my old hometown are things I most look forward to in the summer.
